serve versatile and intelligent alternative rock music with their debut “The Kitchen Sink and its Psychic Matter“ - music that speaks both to the heart and the mind. With eyes and ears wide open the band reflect modern society, politics and lifestyle in a musical fashion, they bring their songs to fruitition in an atmosphere of creativity and individuality and achieve what mainstream music has long been unable to achieve - to touch, move, stimulate and inspire their listeners.
Influences of classical music and blues, art rock and funk as well as a kind of musical non-conformism make themselves felt, a clash of styles is used intentionally to move away from the background noise towards an in-your-face authentic and eclectic music. The different approaches of the individuals in the band build up a tension between the intellectual and the emotional, the music forces you to think while you can't keep your feet from dancing. Like an onion layers musical opposition, political statement, danceable rhythms and poppy and rocky melodies are revealed with every new listen.
„They Call it Pi“ formed in 2011, five young musicians from three different countries who met in Vienna to make this music together. The recordings were allowed a year's time to ripen, aimed at highest quality while everything was selfproduced and self funded.
